Mitsubishi is set to launch its 2026 Outlander PHEV with a new starting price of $44,990, an increase of $2845 over the 2025 model. Despite the higher cost, this updated version comes with a substantially improved plug-in hybrid system, offering both increased range and significantly more horsepower. The most notable enhancement is the larger 23-kW battery, which provides a claimed 45 miles of electric range, alongside an advanced cooling system and better thermal management. These improvements allow the Outlander PHEV to produce 297 horsepower, a considerable jump from the previous 248 hp, promising a more engaging driving experience with refined steering and suspension.
Beyond the powertrain, the 2026 Outlander PHEV also receives comprehensive design and feature updates, mirroring those applied to the 2025 non-hybrid Outlander.
