Organon's Strategic Expansion in Women's Health and Biosimilars

Instructions

Organon & Co. is strategically advancing its position in the global healthcare market, particularly in women's health and biosimilars. The company recently secured exclusive global licensing rights for MIUDELLA, an innovative hormone-free copper intrauterine device developed by Sebela Pharmaceuticals. This product, approved by the U.S. FDA in February 2025, marks the first such IUD introduced in the U.S. in over four decades. Designed for up to three years of contraception with 99% effectiveness, MIUDELLA features advanced SLIMSERT technology for easier insertion and is slated for commercial release in late 2026. This development underscores Organon's dedication to providing diverse and effective solutions in women's reproductive health.

Furthermore, Organon is broadening its biosimilar reach through an expanded collaboration with Samsung Bioepis. This partnership grants Organon exclusive commercialization rights in Canada for Pyzchiva, a biosimilar equivalent to Stelara (ustekinumab), used to treat various inflammatory conditions such as plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis. Under this agreement, Samsung Bioepis will continue its role in development, manufacturing, and regulatory processes, while Organon will manage commercial activities in the Canadian market. This expansion increases their collaborative biosimilar pipeline in Canada to six products, with Pyzchiva anticipated to launch in 2026. Organon, a global healthcare firm, specializes in women's health, biosimilars, and established medicines, offering a portfolio of over 70 products across more than 140 countries.

These strategic moves, including the introduction of MIUDELLA and the expanded biosimilar partnership, reflect Organon's proactive approach to addressing unmet medical needs and enhancing patient access to critical treatments. By focusing on innovation in women's health and leveraging partnerships for biosimilar development, Organon is poised to make a significant positive impact on global healthcare, driving forward advancements that improve lives and promote well-being worldwide.
